Cool new Visual Studio product in the works

Cool new Visual Studio product in the works

Hey all,

My former group (Visual Studio and the .NET Framework) is working on a new version - Visual Studio 2005, codenamed Whidbey.  One of the new products that will be part of Whidbey is a set of tools for creating, running and tracking results for tests.  As a tester, it is pretty exciting to see Microsoft start working on some enterprise-level tools specifically for testing.  Take a look at the link at http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/teamsystem/tester/default.aspx for some additional “sneak peek” information.....

  • Saw the url reference to the demos (Visual Studio 2005 Team Test Edition: Testing Demos) However I could not view the video's; only audio is available. Without a power-point presentation, or video, the audio is pretty much useless.

    Demo URL:
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=88F7CB8B-473B-4ED5-BA47-ABBC06D0048E&displaylang=en

Perhaps you can assist me in providing feedback the the MSDN folks?

    Thanks,
    --Brian
  • I am checking into this with some of the folks I know from the Visual Studio Team Test Edition team. In the meantime can you double check that you have Windows Media Player installed correctly? I've been able to view the demos correctly on my machine, but of course I am on the Microsoft corporate network so that could be a factor too.....thanks!
  • OK here's what I found out from my VS contacts: the AVI file requires a codec download from http://www.techsmith.com/products/studio/codecdownload.asp. The 2 WMV files should work fine. I'm trying to get this resolved so that you won't have to download anything to get the video to display correctly. Sorry for the inconvenience.
