Hi Aaron,
hope you're doing well.
I came across your blog while searching for troubleshooting information while installing .net framework 1.1
I am a photographer in India & use Nikon Capture NX to process my images.
I bought a new Compaq laptop which has an AMD Turion X2 processor & comes pre-loaded with Windows Vista Home Basic.
The Capture NX[http://support.nikontech.com/cgi-bin/nikonusa.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=14187&p_sid=6Kdpc4zi&p_lva=61#] software I use requires .net framework 1.1 to be installed. If not already installed it is automatically installed before Capture NX is installed by the installer and only then is the capture software installed.
Here is where I am facing issues. Almost at the end of the .net framework 1.1 installation some exception occurs & rollback is performed. Thus aborting the Nikon software's installation too.
I am not too well versed with the system side of windows & so your blog [http://blogs.msdn.com/astebner/archive/2005/08/23/455401.aspx] did not make much sense to me, although I knew something of this kind is what is happening to me.
Would appreciate if you could help me out in this. Thanks a ton in advance.
Cheers,
Rahul
