The XNA Game Studio 3.1 Zune Extensions was posted on the Microsoft Download Center today. This product can be installed on a system that has XNA Game Studio 3.1 installed, and it adds the following functionality to the XNA Game Studio 3.1 product:
Here are a couple of links to help you get started installing and using the XNA Game Studio 3.1 Zune Extensions:
MS did a great job letting people 'crosscompiling' the same exact code between Windows, Xbox360 and the Zune.
Can you say if the missing 3d support on the actual XNA api (3.1) is related to NVidia licensing problems? I had some previous developing experience on a Nokia tablet that sport a nice (on paper) powerVR but they had to disable the access for that specific reason (too expansive)
Hi CiroIp - I wasn't involved in that part of the decision-making process, so I'm not able to answer your question one way or the other regarding 3D support. I'm sorry I'm not able to be more helpful here.
I can understand this kind of information could seem a bit too sensible but when a company give away for free the developing tools this kind of questions became the norm :).
Whatever is the reason behind ('political' or 'technical') I hope Msoft will manage well the situation to make the mob happy.
Do you know where point me out for an hint to accessing the RDS/HD Radio station info strings?
In Europe (well, in Italy and I barely tested the function in Germany) the radio app return some 4 letter codes (protocol headers?) like KYXW, WBJK, KZAU ... Pretty sure the 1st generation Zune had a bit more complete info (name station at least and no one bore to 'stream' the songs name here :( ).
The songs's marketplace additional infos is one of the less rated feature (and barely citied) and would be great to use the radio tags for quering authors discographies, bios (bios?), purchases etc.
Thank you for your time
Hi CiroIp - I'm sorry, but I don't have any background working with this radio station information. You may want to post this question on the Creators Club forums at http://forums.xna.com to see if someone there can help provide some assistance with that scenario.
nothing to worry about :) Ill try to find the right Microfot guy to stalk... thanks for the fast answer anyway. I'm already a member of the xna forum (having an xbox project floating around). The xna comunity is great but I have the feeling that the 'selling projects' aspect make the things a bit too competitive with the result of people being a bit more closed than should (in my way of life mindset) should be :)
good night and happy weekend
