Hi martin - I'd suggest using the steps and the cleanup tool described at blogs.msdn.com/.../8108332.aspx to fully remove the .NET Framework 1.1 from your computer, re-install it, then try again to install the .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 and any additional security updates that are available for it.

I would like to have your NET Framework de-install and re-install tool Windows XP Home

Microsoft's advice seems useless. Everything on my computer dealing with security items seems blocked,

but nothing shows up on Bitdefender anti-virus or Malwarebytes free.

Microsoft fix-it did get NET Framework 2 and above to accept an update, but, it seems they deleted 1.1,

and the auto-uploads keeps sending the download of NF 1.1 my way, but it won't upload

Hi Ray - Do these versions of the .NET Framework fail to download, or do they fail to install? If they're failing to download, I'd suggest trying to download them manually instead of letting Windows Update try to download them for you. If they fail to install, can you please use the tool described at blogs.msdn.com/.../6458047.aspx to gather all of your .NET Framework setup log files, post the file named %temp%\vslogs.cab that this tool will create to a file server (such as http://skydrive.live.com) and then reply back here with a link I can use to download your log files and take a further look?

my mircosoft.net framework3.5 service pack1 and net frame3.5 service pack1 and .net framework 3.5 family update for .net versions 2.0 through 3.5 (kb951847 )x86 will not download it keeps saying failed

Hi Penny - I haven't heard of this type of error before, so I'm not sure what to suggest. Could you list the exact error message, or post a screenshot of the exact error message so that I can take a further look?

I keep getting an error msg. that tells me to stop Net\Framework\v1.1.4322 so that computer can enter standby mode. How do I do this?

Hi Mary - I am guessing you are using Windows XP Media Center Edition on your computer. That version of Media Center requires that you have the .NET Framework 1.1 and 1.1 SP1 installed. You can install those versions of the .NET Framework from the links at www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx and www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx.
