In March 2011, Billy Zhang sold to a Microsoft investigator a counterfeit copy of Microsoft Office Professional 2010. Mr Zhang had been refunding eBay customers who indicated that the software was fake in thenegative feedback eBay forum. Mr Zhang agreed to settle the matter out of court by paying a settlement amount of $3500 and promising not to engage in infringing conduct in the future.
