What a day!!! Today we officially launched Visual Studio 2010 and make Windows Azure commercially available in Australia. To say its a good day for developers would be an understatement.
Visual Studio is a suite of component-based development tools and other technologies for building powerful, high-performance applications and a cost effective way to maintain existing applications and target the latest Microsoft platforms while increasing development productivity.

The launch of Visual Studio 2010 coincides with the first Application Lifecycle Management Conference held at Luna Park, Sydney. Guest speakers Sam Guckenheimer and Tanuj Vohra opened the event to 350 ALM attendee’s.
Windows Azure made its long awaited entry into the Australian marketplace today (as well as 41 other countries). With the Windows Azure platform, customers can take advantage of greater choice in developing cloud-based applications by using familiar tools and leveraging on-premises investments.
Developers interested in building and deploying cloud applications on the Windows Azure platform should start here for a general overview and then go to Get Started to learn how to discover, develop and deploy using Windows Azure, SQL Azure, Windows Azure platform AppFabric or Microsoft Codename ‘Dallas'.
