Hi all. It's rainy and miserable in Sydney, which means one thing - blog postings galore!!
As the Australian finals draw near, I'd like to give you all something to think about - Oz finals take place at the end of June (26th), and worldwide finals are in August. This means that (if you seriously rate your chances of taking out the domestic finals:) and) plan to be travelling to Korea for the worldwide finals, you should be making sure you are OK to travel OS. In particular, having a valid passport is paramount! Passport issues take months to clear up in many cases, so bear this in mind.
Secondly, Nick Randolph, who was a judge at the international finals in 2004 & 2005, has posted some tips and guidelines about competing in the international finals. Whilst the Australian finals follow a slightly different format, Nick's guidelines are worth a read for all teams, irrespective of if you are competing in the Oz finals or proceeding to the international finals - there is much more to Imagine Cup than just designing your entry.
Thirdly, there's still plenty of time for new teams to register in software design - Australian entries close May 30th, so there is lots of time to find a team and get cracking.
As usual, any queries can be directed to me <t-nice @ Microsoft dot com>.
