Every 2 weeks we organize MSDN Live Meetings: online sessions, lasting typically 1,5h, presented by local tech influencers, broadcast from our Zaventem office (or elsewhere) and free to attend. Each session is recorded and made available online on our video platform Channel 9: http://channel9.msdn.com/belux. In the next few weeks the following webcasts are scheduled:
27 March 2012 14:00 – 15:30 CET
Time to get Lync’ed Up: a developers perspective
With the release of Lync 2010, Microsoft created a terrific platform for Unified Communications. But the use of the platform is not limited to the software but only to the limitation of your imagination and creativity. The Lync environment is highly extensible and this through the use of the tools you all know best: the .Net Framework and Visual Studio. Together in this session we will walk through all types of development possible for the platform, the tools needed for this kind of development and some of the possible scenarios.
10 April 2012 14:00 – 15:30 CET
Microsoft SQL Server Data Tools
Microsoft SQL Server Data Tools provides an integrated environment for database developers to carry out all their database design work for any SQL Server platform (both on and off premise) within Visual Studio.

Windows 8 Metro Style Apps: How to build a great app
You have looked into building Windows 8 Metro Style Applications. But now comes the step of building a great app that integrates with Winddows 8 experiences and that has great user interaction. How do you make your app preferred by users? How do you give confidence to users? In this session we look at the Metro style guidelines, how to adopt the Metro Design Principles and some examples of going from 'meh' to great! This session focuses on the User Interaction and Experience, so expect little code but lots of input on how to make your app great, whether you are a designer or a developer.
The Microsoft Community in Belgium is also organizing a number of interesting events in the next few months: feel free to have a look at our events page to see which events the user groups and other influencers have planned. Looking specifically for Windows 8 events for developers in Belgium? Have a look at our Windows 8 Metro Map! It’s your guide to your app in the Windows Store. We have a great ride outlined for you with events and activities until the end of summer. We’ll keep you updated on how to register for these events (the MSDN Live Meeting above about Windows 8 Metro Style Apps is one of those events).
