I want to know how I can select an item in a list in one screen and based on that populate an auto-complete box in another screen .. Help!

Hi Beth,

Thanks so much for the tutorials. I have found the videos very helpful but am struggling with a problem with passing values betweem screens. I have linked three sql tables to a create screen and would like to populate the "use existing record" create screen with values from an existing record. IE Make a copy of the record but create a new instance. As I have only been using lightswitch for 2 weeks I am not sure if it is possible to pass values from 3 different datagrids into a create screen?

Your assistance would be greatly appreciated and I hope my description of the problem is clear and correct!

In the section of the article, "How to Open the Default Program for a File", how would you open a file that you have saved in a database as a byte array? I am currently using the SaveFileDialog to prompt the user for a save location to download the file, but I would rather have an "Open" option to display the byte array w/o having to save it to disk.

Hi Beth

This is great.

How would you select a specific part of a screen, e.g. a specific tab, when a user clicks somewhere else on the screen?

I have a screen with a few grids next to each other, and tabs below these.

The tabs contain detail information for the items that are selected in the grids.

I want to automatically select the tab that relates to the grid in which a user clicks to create a new line item, so that they don't have to click on the grid and then click on the appropriate tab to enter the details. Can this be done?
