So I’ve been extra sparse in blog posting over the past couple of weeks, primarily due to travel to the US and then a road show around Australia. However the Office Team reached a key milestone over the weekend that warrants me taking some time to post. Office 2010 has officially reached RTM status. This is the last major milestone in the development life cycle, so while I sit here and install the release code I figure I should make some key dates known to you all;

Date Availability
22nd April Office 2010 will be made available via MSDN download
27th April Office 2010 will be made available to all Volume Licensed Customers who have Software Assurance
1st May This is when all volume license customers who don’t have software assurance can buy Office 2010
June 2010 General availability, this is when Office 2010 will be available to purchase from retail stores like Harvey Norman etc…

  • I love being a TechNet subscriber. :)

  • But why doesn't MS confirm the RTM build number?

  • It's 10:20AM EST and Office 2010 RTM isn't on MSDN yet.  When will it be available?  Thanks.

  • Well, it is June 3 and my Blackberry Curve 8310 will still not sync with the Outlook 2010 that IT has installed on my office computer. They suggested I try setting up wireless sync, but the phone does not have a switch to enable PIM synching.

  • I agree, how do I get the contacts off of my desktop manager to sync with my outlook??
