Calendar Analytics is a time management application that pulls information from Exchange and visualizes that data in a very easy to use Excel dashboard. We are releasing this application in honor of Administrative Professionals' Day, but this application is not geared exclusively to high level executives and their administrative assistants. This new BI tool was developed as part of a continuing effort to show individuals and organizations that business intelligence can be utilized by everyone; not just CIOs and top level executives. I get "ERROR: Communication", "Autodiscover service could not be contacted. Please ensure that your internet connection is working" when i try to get data with "Refresh Calendar" button in excel! I'm connected to LAN, my outlook 2010 is running and i have internet connection (via proxy)! How does email-discovery of this tool work? What are the prerequisites regarding firewall ports, permissions...
Cool tool, if I could get it to work. After clicking "Refresh Calendar" according to the instructions, I type in my emial address(s) etc. and then it gives me the hour glass for a bit which then pops a dialog box "ALERT: Incomplete Calendar Download" and then a listing of each date that it did not download, which is representative of all of the dates in the date range that I originally selected.
I'm getting different kinds of communication errors from it telling me it skipped every day on my calendar to saying the Autodiscover service could not be contacted. Either way...it doesn't seem to want to connect to my calendar.
@JJ78 and @Robert Stevens - The application uses Exchange Web Services to download the calendar items. Is your email server and Exchange Server, do you know what version it is? Thanks.
@Danny Sands -- We've seen this intermittently if the connection to Exchange Web Services drops. Can you please try again, or try a smaller time period? Thanks.

@Chris Yes, we are running EX2007 and i can use RPC/HTTPS to connect outlook from outside. EWS is a optional exchange 2007/2010 feature? Is there any way to test EWS in general, maybe browsing the EWS-URL direct with browser? Exchange+active EWS should be added to "system requirements" on downloadpage!
Would like to give this a go but cannot because I don't use Exchange. I do however use Hotmail which supports ActiveSync so I don't see a reason why this *wouldn't*. Is this a deliberate limitation?
Given this consumes calendar data it would be nice if you supported the open format for calendar data - iCalendar (en.wikipedia.org/.../ICalendar). Any reason why you didn't do that?

Regarding where we host videos, we try to accomodate as many options as possible for our viewers. We publish videos on multiple standards such as Flash, Silverlight or others.

It doesn’t date range or number of people doesn’t matter. We have another working solution which uses Exchange Web Services to collect calendar information from our Exchange 2010 server.
Calendar Analytics functions as expected when connecting to Office 365.
I’m living in Norway; can this be a date format issue? (I’ve English Excel.)
I have the same issue as Danny & John.
Changing my regional settings didn't do it for me, so I don't think format can be the problem.
