Pat Yongpradit, computer science teacher at  Springbrook High School located in Montgomery County Maryland. He is innovating in the classroom by leveraging game design and development to teach computer science to high school students.

In a recent blog post over at scholastic.com, Pat writes about his approach to teaching and how he leverages XNA, Microsoft’s game development framework, in the classroom.

We create games and applications for the Microsoft Imagine Cup, a worldwide student technology competition centered around creating technology to address the UN Millennium Development Goals. One group of students made a maternal health game in which a young man must come to the aid of mothers in his village by bringing them medicine, food, and transporting them to the hospital.
