Andy - Did you make sure to set the property of the DocumentFormat.OpenXml.dll to "copy local"?

Hi Brian,

What is required to actually distribute OpenXML to web server. (and where do i put it).

I have a test wcf service that opens an existing a word 2007 docx and returns the raw xml to a silverlight client. In Visual Studio IDE this all works fine, and can display the raw xml in silverlight page.

I have been attempting to publish the .net solution, and have put the DocumentFormat.OpenXml.dll and DocumentFormat.OpenXml.xml file in the bin folder of the wcf service. However, when attempt to open same document in published wcf, get error [Async_ExceptionOccurred] (with "useful" information that Debugging resource strings are unavailable.

What am i missing?

Adam - Did you try removing the dll reference from the project and then re-adding it? There is a possibility that the solution is referencing an older version of the SDK. Let me know if that helps.

I tried installing the CTP for August and it does not work in Visual studio. When I specified:

using DocumentFormat.OpenXml;

I get the build errors that this type or namespace could not be found. I obviously have the .dll in my reference library, nothing is unchanged in my solution. I have to roll-back to the Aril CTP version. Can you guys tell me if there is a fix for this?
