Best Pen for Moleskines

In answer to Steve's question about the best pen for a Moleskine, I was going to mention these great pigment pens that I used to get in the scrapbooking section of the hobby stores. (The idea being that pigment will last forever, where the dye in inks eventually fade.) Well, I actually found a pen that I like better and the price is really good. It's a Sanford uni-ball ONYX fine point. The ink is very dark and it dries very quickly. It looks like they have many varieties on the web site. I'm just using the cheap ones.

    Personally I always carry a Fisher Space-Pen (Bullet, black fine-point). Useful because you can keep it in your pocket, never leaks and lasts for ages...

    Arg! I absolutely hate those pens. That's what the stockroom is full of and every one that I've tried cannot put out a decent consistent line of ink. I honestly think the Uni-ball ONYX needs to be recalled. I keep getting new ones from the stockroom thinking my current one is faulty, no luck.

    I concur with Froz. The Uni-ball Onyx pens are decent right out of the box but within a few weeks of use, the ink output gets inconsistent. They also put out a lot of ink -- enough to soak through standard notebook pages.

    On the more expensive end of disposable pens, the Uni-ball JetStream (http://www.uniball-na.com/main.taf?p=1,3,3#) is an excellent pen with good ink flow from first to last.

    I agree, these do put out a lot of ink. The ones that I'm using seem to be pretty clean though. :)

    the best pen for use in a moleskines is the Pilot Hi-Tecpoint V7. They come in many different colours and I recommend the Fine tip rather than the extra fine.

    The ONYX seems to dried up because it actually does. Rather than free-ink, the ink inside is actually in some cotton. The Uni-Ball Vision is a much better very of a very similar pen.
    And I concur with the Space Pen. Can't bust 'em.
