Yesterday, I attended a meeting where MSDN Product Manager Justin Grant went over some of the pain points that customers are having when they visit MSDN. One of these points had to do with searching for the right answer when troubleshooting a problem. I think the issue is that the documentation and papers we post on MSDN aren't really oriented toward troubleshooting issues for the most part.

What we do have though, is a great product support site that's dedicated to troubleshooting issues.

With that in mind I'm going to add a troubleshooting link to the home page Visual C++ Developer Center and I'll also take a look at adding something like a top knowledge base articles control to the home page. Does a KB control sound like something useful on the site? Post a response to this thread and let me know.

That looks like an interesting page with links to further interesting pages. Thank you for posting it.

when I install "Turbo C++ 4.5" a certain error will come out and it says "The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications." and end up terminating the installation.. could you please help me with this? what should I do? thanks a lot...

I keep getting the following message:
In the title bar:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Then:
X in a circle; Bufer Overrun detected
Program:C\PROGRAMFILES\INTERNET\EXPLORER\EXPLORE.EXE
Aufer poverrun has been detected which has curupted the programs internal state. The program cannot safely continue execution and must now be terminated.

This is happening evey time I access something and the I can't go any further. I haven't downloaded anything & my email site is tcolemank@hotmail.com, can you please help.

Hi Jan,

Turbo C++ is a Borland product. You might try searching there for support.

It's a fairly old product. If nothing else works, you might try setting the installer to run as a Windows 95 application. You can do this in the properties menu. Just right click on the install file and choose properties.

I get this message everytime I get on the internet through Earthlink. I contacted them and they seem to think I need to download Microsoft XML Paraser? Is this the correct fix for this continual problem? This is a new windows xp computer. Please email me with an answer. karenmcq51@yahoo.com

Hey Matt,

I don't think it will work on Windows ME. I'm pretty sure the emulators won't work on anything but NT.
