MIX07 Session Recordings

MIX07 Session Recordings

Phew - it's been a long week! I spent the first half of the week down in Las Vegas. One of the projects I've been assigned in addition to my Visual Studio Team System "day job" is to work on making the MIX07 session recordings available online. With MIX06 we raised the bar for conferences by making all content available online a month after the show (most conferences traditionally mail a DVD to attendees but stop short of making content freely available online). This year we wanted to raise the bar one step further by making all of the content available within 24 hours after each live presentation. I'm pleased to say that with the exception of a few sessions which are still undergoing post-production processing, we met our goal. In fact, most content was available within 15 hours after each live presentation. Viva Las Vegas, it's a good thing they pump extra oxygen into those casino hotels to help you stay awake long into the night!

I also want to recognize Soma Media who partnered with us to deliver this solution. They have done an amazing job designing and implementing the user experience associated with this project.

Mike Swanson has a detailed post talking about the process we've gone through and what's to come in the following weeks as we bring even higher quality content online. You can check it out for yourself at http://sessions.visitmix.com - there's a lot of really exciting content out there.

  • I just wanted to say 'Bravo' for making these sessions available online so soon after the event - and for free.

This recognizes that there are far more developers around the world who couldn't attend MIX than who could.
