You may have noticed that there is not a native 64-bit version of Visual Studio 2010. With all of the rage around 64-bit these days, what gives?

I’ve been getting that question a lot lately, and as it turns out there are some really good reasons for this (some of which I understand, and a few of which are beyond my scope of comprehension, but I have faith in the smart people who do).
