The RTM version of the Visual Studio 2013 ALM virtual machine and hands-on-labs / demo scripts are now available!
You can also find a consolidated list of all of the ALM virtual machines here: http://aka.ms/ALMVMs.
Please ensure that you are following the instructions in the "Working with..." document for importing this VM. The most likely cause for what you are seeing is that you did not IMPORT the VM, but instead that you created a new virtual machine and pointed to the existing VHD file. If you are still having this problem after following these instructions on a fresh extract of the VM please let me know.
I am also having issues trying to Activate the OS. I followed the instruction in the "Working with ..." document and tried to activate but I am getting the error "The activation server reported that new time based activation not available". Date is set to today and the machine has internet connectivity so not sure what's wrong.
It turns out that the activation problems people are hitting are due to something going on with the service at Microsoft responsible for unlocking activations. I'm really sorry for everybody who hit this but we only recently confirmed this is a problem. We're still trying to find a solution to the activation problem, although keep in mind that you do NOT need to activate to use this VM.
I just wrote a blog post which details this along with the implications: blogs.msdn.com/.../errors-activating-the-alm-virtual-machines.aspx
Only it looks like you forgot to add the following links on (http://aka.ms/vs13almvm):
Sorry about that, you caught me mid-upgrade. :-) The blog post has been updated now with all of the files in the fileset along with a set of 20 additional hands-on-labs / demo scripts which were upgraded from 2010/2012.
