Take a look over at http://blogs.technet.com/b/projectadministration/archive/2011/12/14/microsoft-project-server-and-sharepoint-server-2007-and-2010-december-2011-cu-announcement.aspx for the full details.  Also don’t forget the webcast in January giving you the inside scoop on what we are delivering in these Cumulative Updates.

TechNet Webcast: Information about Microsoft Project and Project Server December 2011 Software Update (Level 200)

A couple of my favorite fixes – the correction of an earlier problem that saw many non-English sites having English headers on the Project Center, My Tasks and Resource Center pages, and a change to single entry mode behavior so that you do not see unexpected changes to your timesheet entered data.  More about these and all the other fixes on January 10th Webcast with Adrian Jenkins and me.

  • Thank you Brian...

  • Hi Brain!

where is december Rollup for MO(SS& PS) 2007?

    The link - support.microsoft.com/.../2596986 doesn't work!

  • Hi DFS, as we mentioned in the Project Administration blog posting - these were delayed and expected to be available next week.  The good news is that we beat our expectations and they are available now.

    Best regards,

    Brian

  • Hi colleagues

After installation, during a configuration weren't started Microsoft Office Project Server Events Service and Microsoft Office Project Server Queue Service.

    Sorce: Service Control Manager

    Event ID: 7009

Timeout (60000 milliseconds) waiting for the Microsoft Office Project Server Events Service service to connect.

    Event ID: 7000

The Microsoft Office Project Server Events Service service failed to start due to the following error:

The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

Dear Brain, is this problem connected with installation CU?

    MO(SS&PS) 2007.

  • Hi DFS, it isn't directly related to the CU installation as far as I know - but is a known condition that can happen depending on what other things the server is doing.  Rolly's article is one potential cause - the other might just be that things are slow and just increasing the timeout will work.  See the following blog for the details - it is in one of the comments - blogs.msdn.com/.../so-how-did-we-ship-sp1-so-early.aspx This was written for 2007 but equally applies to 2010.

  • Thankyou Brain.

    I tried your offer:

"To fix the issue, please use the following steps:

    1. Run "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\12\bin\psconfig –cmd upgrade –inplace b2b –wait –force".

    2. In registry editor add/modify the following values on "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control":

    a) ServicesPipeTimeout   DWORD   60000  (decimal).

    b) WaitToKillServiceTimeout changed to “120000”.

    3. Reboot the server"

    It hasn't helped
