It comes as no surprise that Adrian Downes and Nick Barclay we're responsible for pulling together the "Rational Guide To Microsoft Office Business Scorecard Manager 2005" when I read this post from Nick. They're both EXTREMELY knowledgeable but what sets these guys apart is that they JUST keep it simple.

For those of you who have come from an SQL infrastructure background and working hard to get up to speed on PerformancePoint planning the following posts are an absolute must read, especially when talking to customers.

This is a great guide to getting started on understanding Planning before you let loose on the VPC.

  1. Setting the stage (Budgeting 101)
  2. Configuring the Application (Introducing the Planning Administration Console)
  3. Defining the Model (Introducing Planning Business Modeler)
  4. Defining Business Rules

Hat tip to Adrian - this is one of the most sensible and simple posts I've read on PerformancePoint planning.  Guys, Looking forward to seeing the next rational guide for PerformancePoint.
