  • A clear business need and a well defined strategy for execution
  • Healthy business processes - if they're not in good order you'll never realize the benefit
  • Confidence and trust of the data in your existing systems
  • Realistic budgets
  • An implementation plan

I'm sure it seems like I'm applying the traditional "consultants mantra" of stealing your watch to tell you the time here but it happens time and time again.
