One of the readers recently asked about the blog post I made regarding the performance of replication being so improved in SQL Server 2008. We don’t have a formal study posted on that particular result yet, but we do have others that talk about speed increases in SQL Server 2008 – especially cool things like loading a terabyte of data in less than 30 minutes – a world record! More here: http://www.microsoft.com/sqlserver/2008/en/us/benchmarks.aspx (it’s there on that page near the bottom).
And if you’re looking for more reasons to upgrade, make sure you check out these whitepapers: (http://www.microsoft.com/sqlserver/2008/en/us/white-papers.aspx) and these case studies: http://www.microsoft.com/sqlserver/2008/en/us/case-studies.aspx) – I’m sure you’ll find plenty of evidence in those resources to help convince you to move.
Of course, my favorite reason is the increased manageability, which you can read more about here: http://www.microsoft.com/sqlserver/2008/en/us/wp-sql-2008-manageability.aspx.
