I've mentioned this driver for SQL Server before, but in case you have any boxes out there that you're using PHP on, make sure you check out this update. Here's the announcement, straight from the team:
Version 1.0 RTM of the SQL Server 2005 Driver for PHP is live!
It is my pleasure to announce that version 1.0 of the SQL Server 2005 Driver for PHP is available for download on the MSDN download site.
Our commitment to interoperability
This release marks another step in Microsoft’s continued commitment to interoperability. Earlier this year, we saw the release of IIS 7.0 and its FastCGI support, the next step towards making Windows the platform of choice for both developing and deploying PHP applications. Two weeks ago, the Open Source Software Lab (aka Project Willow) contributed PHP code to a non-Microsoft open source project. Now we've released version 1.0 of the PHP driver referenced by that project. To show our level of commitment to the PHP community, we've also posted the source code for our driver to Microsoft's CodePlex site. To the best of my knowledge, this is the first Microsoft project to make its source code publicly available in a v1.0 launch.
This release of the SQL Server 2005 PHP driver makes it easier for the PHP development community and internal partners (such as Project Willow and Micropedia) to use SQL Server as their database of choice for PHP applications. We encourage you to download our driver and explore the sample application described in the .chm file. If you'd prefer to access our documentation on-line, it's available on the MSDN site. We welcome your feedback at our triage alias. To keep up with our announcements and customer feedback, please check out our team blog or the MSDN forum site for the driver.
