Folks,

Wanted to make you aware of a new PowerTool that is being released on the TFS side of the business. You can find it here. If you are leveraging work item and various other MSF process guidance, certainly check this out! Here is a description of what it is all about:

The Microsoft Visual Studio Team System Process Editor is a Visual Studio plug-in that allows Microsoft Team Foundation Server process templates such as MSF for Agile Software Development and MSF for CMMI Process Improvement to be edited. The process templates may be edited for both new and existing projects. Work item definitions and other process template parameters can be edited in real time on a live project as well as in xml process template definitions. The following list represents some of the challenges addressed in this release:

  • Editing process templates within Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Changing work item definitions, queries, and other settings for a process template
  • Designing workflow for a work item using state modeling
  • Adding and removing reports to a process template
  • Creating new default work items to ease learning of new processes

If you download it and try it out, the forums for the editor itself are found here. The general MSF site is here.

Cheers!

Cameron
