This year Imagine Cup is starting to take students application from all over the world. Last year competition had more than 100,000 students from more than 100 countries and Canada won first place in the short film category (see my other blog post) and 2nd place overall in project Hoshimi in 2005. We'd love to get an even bigger representation from Canada this year so here's what you need to know:
The Imagine Cup 2007 this year is comprised of 9 categories as follows:
And the final will be held in Seoul, South Korea.
Students should go to the web site (http://imaginecup.com/) right now to register and receive news and information as we get closer to the competition. This will also give them first crack at the online competition since they'll know right away when it starts.
If you are a member of a faculty, this competition is a great way to incorporate fun and relevant content to any curriculum from Computer Science and Engineering to Graphic Design and Film plus your students may win a free trip to Seoul ;-)
Community members - here's your assignment (if you choose to accept it). I'm sure you know someone, university student, teacher, professor or you may even be an alumni of a university in Canada. We need you to spread the word about the Imagine Cup. This is a cool representation of what Canada is capable and it showcases our future workforce.
