For TechEd we needed a couple links to web pages and thought –what a great use for the Windows Sidebar! Ironically in all the Windows Sidebar samples i didn't see this canonical "click here > open this page" example.  -So thought i would write one a post it for the next guy<g>

To use, extract this zip file into  the following directory on a vista computer:

<windows root>\Program Files\Windows Sidebar\Gadgets

Then to add to the Windows side bar right click on the side bar and choose “Add Gadgets” and select one or all three of the new teched gadgets you have extracted - viola just that simple!

In case you don’t want/can not download the zip the code is simply the following:

<HTML>
 <HEAD>
  <TITLE>Maps</TITLE>
  <STYLE type="text/css">
   body{
    width:130px;
    height:130px;
    background-color:black;
    background-image:url('../images/map.PNG')
   }
  </STYLE>
 </HEAD>
 <BODY onclick="window.open('http://www.msteched.com/australia','_blank'); return true;" >
 </BODY>
</HTML>

Thanks to Geoff for pointing out i didn’t need to use a form tag
