Are you up for leading a small team of content owners? The Visual Studio Team System team seeks a Site Manager to help shape the next generation of online community features and interactions with developers, architects, project managers and testers.
As the Site Manager you will be responsible for envisioning and coordinating development of the Team System technical and community websites including http://msdn.microsoft.com/teamsystem. You will manage all aspects of the site with particular attention to customizing the experience for numerous personas to ensure they are able to find the information they need quickly in the form they need it in. You will build traffic and satisfaction to encourage visitors to become dedicated, long term members of the community by ensuring that new content is available on a regular basis. You’ll need to have strong communication and cross group coordination skills in order to partner closely with product management and product development to ensure the site experience and editorial plan supports the end-to-end customer experience.
Specific responsibilities include:
Helping lead definition of the user experience
Leading a collaborative effort to determine and evolve long-term web content strategy
Ensuring project execution methods are clearly defined, efficient, well-understood, aligned with the business and infrastructure
Evangelizing plans and project execution methods across stakeholders, building affinity, and aligning partners to ensure holistic execution
Contributing to determination of ROI formulas and measures - KPIs, benchmarking, etc.
Developing and driving an editorial calendar
Work closely with content contributors to ensure ongoing relevant fresh content
Requirements:
Developer web acumen
5+ years in content and user experience development for a successful consumer web experience
Demonstrated creativity at all stages of site development, from vision and inception through development and ongoing editorial execution
5+ years project management and leadership in fast-paced software development environment
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Demonstrated passion for technology and understanding of a developer technology audience
Proven problem-solver in multi-disciplinary organizations
Optimism, perseverance, patience, confidence, humility
Demonstrated understanding of web metrics and ability to measure strategy outcomes
