It's BarCamp time again here in Dallas - if you're interested in joining us, come by the BarCamp web site and put your name up on the wiki.
Here's all the important details:
BarCamp's really are a lot of fun. I had a great time a few months ago talking about Silverlight with a group of designers at BarCamp Houston. Many of them were Flash developers, interested in what Silverlight had to offer. We had a great discussion where I talked about how Fox, Netflix, CBS, Microsoft, and others were committing themselves to Silverlight because of the fast, cost-effective HD video streaming capabilities, ease of development (thanks to a rich API and Visual Studio), and the fact that their developers could leverage their existing .NET development skills instead of being forced to learn a whole new language. Today, many more companies have chosen Silverlight for the same reasons including Entertainment Tonight, the World Wrestling Federation, World Series of Poker, and SportZCast. Of course, my current *favorite* Silverlight app is the Halo 3 Interactive Game Guide. Come see me at BarCamp Dallas this weekend and I'll show them to you :)
