His most recent book, Programming Microsoft .NET, was published by Microsoft Press in 2002, and his writings appear regularly in MSDN Magazine and other trade magazines. A reformed engineer who discovered after college that there's more to life than computing loads on mounting brackets, today Jeff's professional life revolves totally around ASP.NET. In his leisure time, Jeff is known to go out of his way to get wet in some of the world's best dive spots and to spend way too much time building and flying R/C aircraft.
INTRODUCING ASP.NET AJAX
ASP.NET AJAX is a free, extensible, object-oriented framework that simplifies the development of AJAX-enabled Web pages. It is both a set of server-side extensions to Microsoft ASP.NET 2.0 and a client-side library written in JavaScript that is browser-independent and server-independent. The client half of ASP.NET AJAX can be used with PHP, ColdFusion, and other non-Microsoft platforms almost as easily as it is used with ASP.NET. And because ASP.NET AJAX is 100% browser-independent, pages built with it work not only in Microsoft Internet Explorer, but in Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, and other modern browsers.
This half-day session introduces developers to ASP.NET AJAX and goes under the hood to show how it works, how it's extended, and how to leverage it to create cutting-edge Web apps. We will also include a session looking at where Microsoft’s latest web technologies are being used closer to home, featuring Rob Burke from Microsoft Ireland. Don’t miss this special event and an opportunity to see ASP.NET AJAX up close and personal!
