Brian Black and Willy Peter-Schaub have just published an amazing article in the September issue of MSDN Magazine called “Visual Studio ALM Rangers – Reflections on Virtual Teams” detailing their experiences in managing the ALM Ranger projects. I know about this experience from the inside as I am an ALM Ranger as well – but I wasn’t aware of the complexity and challenges that they have encountered in dealing with dozens of different teams while trying to apply Agile management principles. Also, they delve into things most don’t have to worry about such as time zones and being from different cultural backgrounds. A definitely recommended read for those looking into the complexity of managing dispersed teams.
