Thanks for your question. The answer is multi-layered. But in essence, yes, you can use the same tools that you are familiar with for testing of desktop applications and yes, you also require 'something special'. As part of the package in the WinMo 6 SDK there is a cellular emulator which allows you to test various scenarios through the emulator such as, what happens if a call comes mid-way through my app's execution, or an SMS, or what happens if only 2G data connection is available? Also part of the testing requirements for apps to go to MarketPlace is a thorough thrashing with 'Hopper'. This little terror will randomly hop about the phone's interface and press everything it can. Think of it as a 2 year old tester with an infinite attention span and no dribble.

Everything you need to know should be accessible on http://developer.windowsmobile.com/

Thanks,

Agree. Testing is important, especially with Mobile apps because users have short attention spans. So can I use the same VS2008 Unit test infrastructure that I use when building standard applciations or is there something special I need to do to test my mobile application e.g. does my test code need to run in the emulator?
