Microsoft Dynamics CRM Portal Accelerator

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Portal Accelerator

Days before Convergence I had the opportunity to sit down with Reuben Krippner, a Senior Product Manager in the Microsoft Dynamics CRM product planning team about the exciting CRM Portal Accelerator release and SDK refresh that was released in April. Accelerators are templates built by the CRM team to help you easily build CRM extensions thereby accelerating the value you derive out of Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

On this first part of 3 part video series, we talk about the next generation Portal Accelerators that will be released in conjunction with May 2010 Service Update for CRM Online. It’s worth noting that these new accelerators works with all CRM deployment models (On-premises, CRM Online or partner hosted CRM). The external portals themselves are flexible enough that you can deploy them in your own web server or on Windows Azure.

This release also includes a CRM SDK refresh which brings new rapid development tools that allow developers to take advantage of the latest .NET features such as LINQ, ADO.NET data services, etc.

Cheers,

Girish Raja

  • CRM Accelerators for Microsoft Dynamics CRM that help organizations reduce costs and establish business insight across social networks, channel-centric organizations and Web interaction channels.

As with all CRM Accelerators, they are available at no additional cost to current Microsoft Dynamics CRM customers and partners. These solutions can be deployed as packaged extensions to Microsoft Dynamics CRM, or used to help develop new solutions — allowing organizations to help improve the time to value in tailoring Microsoft Dynamics CRM to their business needs.

  • I was at Convergence with several clients and was extremely impressed by the functionality of the CRM portal accelerator.  Our team has downloaded the accelerator and plan to implement it internally and for a cutting edge client of ours over the next 2-4 weeks. I'm curious to figure out how easy or hard it will be to expose custom entities via the portal to external parties.
