On July 27th, 2013 the Dynamics CRM team released a critical update for CRM 2011 targeted on the Update Rollup 11 codebase. NOTE: Below the “KB2855319 Critical Update” will be referred to as “CU” and “Dynamics CRM 2011 Outlook Client Add-In” will be referred to as “Outlook Client” for consistency and readability. Please also note, this article discusses both the Server and Outlook Client CU patch files, there are valid scenarios where your client and server versions do not match. We are having this issue and even Rollup 15 will not install on the machine now. Have you had any success resolving this?
Hi Andrew, Which issue are you having? This particular article is highlighting the important aspects of UR11 CU and also stressing the application of UR15 once it releases. Which issue are you having?
In order to get a workstation cleaned up so I can properly install CRM for Outlook, RU11 + CU11,
I uninstalled the CRM for Outlook client completely, but in the "installed updates" I still see Update Rollup 8, 12, and 13 and cannot uninstall any of these updates as "CRM for Outlook is not installed on this computer or the update is incompatible with the current installation of Microsoft CRM for Outlook."
Any idea of how I can remove these completely? If I don't I cannot install CU11 (says its not compatible)
Hi Nick, make sure you reboot your machine and see if they go away. If not click uninstall on the update and it may ask you to remove it. I have completely uninstalled the client from my machine in the past and haven't had any updates stick around that I can recall. In either case:
- re-install CRM 2011 (UR6 based installation from download.microsoft.com)
- As soon as you install the client (even before you configure if you want) go right to installing the UR11 CU

I have a question: Instead of using Outlook client, I use email router (CRM 2011 on premise) and we have UR11.
Can I apply this CU?

You can still apply this UR11 CU to either the Server and\or Outlook clients regardless of whether or not you are using the Outlook client as your e-mail router. There is not an updated installer for the e-mail router as there were no changes there. I would recommend checking out the KB and if you have issues addressed by this CU, then install this in test and confirm it resolves the issue for your organization. support.microsoft.com/.../2855319
Going forward I would strongly recommend looking at Update Rollup 15+ as you will need to have at least UR14 to upgrade to CRM 2013.
