There aren’t many Vista features I am missing in Win7, but one that I most definitely miss is having favorites appear when searching the start-menu. Now, you can add a favorites menu item to Start, but that’s not all that helpful for me – what I want is to be able to search in the Start text box and get the favorites that match.

After asking around, here’s a method that works pretty damn well:

1. Add a new library (right-click Libraries in explorer and click “New”).

2. Add the Favorites folder to the library

That’s it. Because libraries appear first in the start-menu, you will now see your favorites apprear in the start menu.
