Thanks to Paul Oliver (check out his game portfolio: http://pauliver.com/)– one of our top influential developers in the Mid-Atlantic (originally an MSP at the University of Baltimore County) has released the Helium Game Engine.

This fully documented game engine for XNA serves as the basis for Alien Military Strike (formerly known as N.A.M.E):

Paul Ash was kind enough to work with Paul Oliver provides a tutorial to get you up and floating on Helium:

In the tutorial he walks us though how to create a menu and how to instantiate a game engine for the Windows Phone 7 platform with XNA.

Thanks again to Paul for release this great free game engine – hopefully this encourages other to write some free apps for Windows Phone 7!
