Microsoft Academic Days is a conference series for post-secondary researchers & educators.  Academic Days on Databases & Operating Systems will take place in Toronto from May 23-25th.  The conference will host approximately 100 top researchers from across North America.

Conference overview

The Academic Days on Database and Operating Systems is an opportunity for Microsoft Research and product teams to share their latest advances with Academia. The agenda includes a track on Operating Systems and another on Database System internals.

The Operating Systems track consists of sessions on MSR’s Singularity project, a session on Operating System Internals – broad overview of Windows architecture with comparisons to Linux, by Mark Russinovich, and a session on Windows Kernel Teaching objects by Arkady Retik.

The database systems track includes sessions on database internals, XML in SQL Server and Datamining/Business Intelligence by SQL Server Architects and Researchers. There is also a SQL Server Datamining workshop on May 25th.
