[Teched Australia] Surface at TechEd, this week :)

A small number of Microsoft Surface units from Microsoft in the US have arrived in Australia for testing and evaluation (ex Amnesia).  These units are not for sale and there are currently no plans to market and sell these units in Australia.
Microsoft Surface, a product originally unveiled by Microsoft Corp. CEO Steve Ballmer in May 2007, turns an ordinary tabletop into a vibrant, interactive surface. It's the first commercially-available surface computing platform from Microsoft. The product provides effortless access to digital content through natural gestures, touch and physical objects.

We are very excited that Australia is one of the first countries outside the US to receive a Microsoft Surface for internal evaluation and exploration. It is a testament to the fact that Australians are early technology adopters.
Why do we show it at TechEd?
TechEd delegates are special for Microsoft and we want to give them the opportunity to see real innovation from Microsoft first hand.
Can I develop for Surface already?
Microsoft Australia does not yet distribute the SDK (including HW) for Surface. We will announce through our website when we are ready to take orders.

Where can I find the Surface at Tech Ed:  In the MSDN lounge of course!!!!
Where can I find information about Surface: http://www.surface.com
