Today we are excited to announce the availability of the lab release of Microsoft Codename “Data Explorer”. This is an exciting milestone for our team and we would like to thank you for your continued interest over the past few weeks.

If you had already signed up for trying our cloud service, you can expect to receive an email over the coming weeks with instructions for getting started with the service. We are gradually onboarding people as we described in this previous post.

However, if you are eager to try “Data Explorer” and do not want to wait until you get the invitation to the cloud service, you can install our Desktop Client. You can find the “Data Explorer” Desktop Client download here, available to anyone who wants to try it out. “Data Explorer” in the client currently offers integration with Excel along with many of the same capabilities available in the cloud.

Once you start using “Data Explorer”, you might consider visiting our Learning Page. Here you will find learning resources including step-by-step samples, how-to videos and the formula language and library specifications.

We would like to remind you that the main purpose of this lab release is to validate our ideas for “Data Explorer” as well as to learn from your feedback. You can use our forum to send us your thoughts and comments.

We look forward to hearing from you about your experiences with “Data Explorer”.

Enjoy!
