It was an afternoon of 1999, I was still third year college student of Dalian University of Technology (Dalian, China). I walked into a computer store in a downtown shopping mall and noticed a group of people were gathering around a computer and talking about the stock market. The curiosity pushed me getting closer, and I saw they were using the web based java program to retrieve the real-time stock information. I created that program as my innovation project back in the summer of 1998. That moment, the excitement and the proudness, will be remembered for the rest of my life. Because, at that very moment, I realized what I am really passionated about – using software making people’s life better. I believe it should be the passion of every software engineer!
那是1999年的一个下午，我还是大连理工大学的大三学生。当我走进市中心的一个电脑商店的时候，看见了许多人围在一个计算机旁边讨论股票信息。怀着好奇心我走了过去，看见他们正在使用基于Web的Java程序查询实时股票信息。而这个软件正是我在1998年夏天完成的一个创新实践项目。那一刻，那种激动与自豪，让我今生无法忘却。因为就在那一刻，我深深体会到了真正为之振奋的事情——用软件改变人的生活。我坚信这应该是每一个软件工程师为之奋斗的动力！
