Have you ever had a list or set of information that you need to keep updated, but it is owned partially by many groups?

In SharePoint 2010 Business Connectivity Services (BCS), you can save your data into an external data source or link to and existing data source and have that information exposed in many places.

This means that people from many teams will have access to update the information where they work day-in and day-out. No need to go to a “centralized” system page or site.

So centralize your data and free your users.
