How can I get access to PartnerSource & CustomerSource

David MeegoScott StephensonYou have probably noticed the padlock icon Secure Link next to many of the links on this blog. This icon signifies links which require access to PartnerSource or CustomerSource.

You will find that many Knowledge Base articles, Tools, Software Development Kits (SDK), Product Releases and Service Packs are all protected in these secure areas.

To get access to these secure sites, you will need to be a Microsoft Business Solutions (Dynamics) partner or customer.

So ...

  • If you belong to a company which is a registered Microsoft Dynamics Customer and you don't have access, please ask your manager or system administrator to create a login for you. Your company should already have at least one login assigned to them. If no one at your organization is aware of whom is setup as Adminstrator, then please contacts your Microsoft Dynamics partner for that information.

  • Microsoft Dynamics Partners that have signed the Solution Provider Agreement, or have purchased a Partner Foundation or Partner Advanatage plan should already have access. Please ask your manager or system administrator to create a login for you. Your company should already have at least one login assigned to them.

  • If you belong to a company that is a Microsoft Partner, but not a Microsoft Dynamics Partner, it is possible to request access to PartnerSource with a special form.  This form is available within the Microsoft Partner Program portal by clicking on this link.

  • If you belong to a company that is not a Microsoft Partner and not a Microsoft Dynamics Partner or Customer, then you will have to work through someone who is or sign up through the Microsoft Partner Program.

This will help ISV (Independent Software Vendor) Microsoft partner companies who wish to integrate their products with Microsoft Dynamics products obtain access to the invaluable resources available on PartnerSource.

  • Like Dave Musgrave, I occasionally point to CustomerSource locations for files. I forget that while most

  • One issue with PartnerSource access we encounter is that it is not available at this time to companies licensing Dynamics in a monthly subscription format under the SPLA volume licensing agreement.  ESPECIALLY in these economic times a lot of companies want to pay as they go on a monthly subscription, but their partner needs to invest more into the customer as these KB articles and online resources aren't yet available to the customers directly.

  • Thanks Todd for your comment on this article. If I understand you correctly, you are indicating that Dynamics customers that license our software through a SPLA provider do not have acess to CustomerSource today. This is correct today, as our assumption was that these customers would always work with their SPLA provider for technical support on the solution.

The SPLA provider themselves does have access to PartnerSource and CustomerSource to help search for issues that they are maybe not familiar with themselves.

I believe what you are indicating is that you would like a hybrid business model where the SPLA partner provides the monthly license, but yet their customer would also have access to self-help support, instead of getting support through the SPLA provider. If this is true, I have passed along your feedback to the team that makes those decisions. Thanks for the feedback.

    Scott
