For the partners out there, here is just a quick reminder to make sure you are aware of these changes to licensing for the Microsoft Dynamics ERP product range.
Effective September 1 2010, Microsoft is introducing three lighter access license rights to help our customers more affordably extend their Microsoft Dynamics ERP to more people within their organization.
Business Ready Licensing customers have access to three new licensing rights:
The Microsoft Dynamics Light User and the Microsoft Dynamics Employees Self Service User (but not the Limited Device CAL) will also become available to Microsoft Services Provider License Agreement (SPLA) customers on October 1, 2010.
For more information, whitepapers, FAQs, etc., please see the following announcement page:
For SPLA do you know if Business Portal will be added to the 'Business Essentals ' option has it has in Business Ready licensing for GP. Just had some SPLA keys run for GP2010 and is not available

I read through the white paper and am a bit confused...does this mean if a user accesses data solely through a SQL Reporting Services Report or metric they need to buy this license? Doesn't a SQL CAL cover that access?
Andy: BP should no longer be a stand-alone sku on the price list I believe. What IS available is the Light User (both AM and BE) on SPLA as an ala carte option. This would give them access to BP functionality.
Peter: Yes, anyone accessing GP data through SRS reports/metrics would require a Light User (unless they were in GP at the time they are doing it…in that case, the full user covers the licensing requirements).
I'm looking for some documentation on Dexterity Licensing but cannot find concise information, will you be able to help me? A customer has asked me to help them with something and I think Dex will be the best technology but I would like to make sure we do it without breaching the licensing agreement, basically I need a free-lance license?
Microsoft Partners can use Dexterity without additional licensing. Customers can purchase Dexterity if they wish.
