With the release of Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013, I am pleased to announce the release of Build 17 of the Support Debugging Tool for Microsoft Dynamics GP for versions 10.0, GP 2010 (v11.0) and GP 2013 (v12.0).
This build mainly includes fixes and enhancements to existing features as well as changes to support the changes and features of Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013.
Some of the new features specifically for Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 are:
There are still some great features planned for the Support Debugging Tool (SDT), but sadly just not enough time to develop them. Hopefully, the next build will not be too far away.
Below is a summary of the changes made for releases 10.00.0017, 11.00.0017 and 12.00.0017, I have divided them into logical sections:

The Support Debugging Tool is a custom built tool to provide additional capabilities to troubleshoot issues and is not part of the standard Microsoft Dynamics GP released application. Technical support for this tool is not handled via the standard support systems and instead is provided via the public Microsoft Dynamics GP Community Forum. Dave, I was just at convergence and sat through the great session from Mariano on this tool. He showed us some neat features and specifically one where it could do an evaluation of the products installed, tables, logins missing, etc.... I got our partner to get that for us as soon as it was over. Unfortunately, we inherited a GP 9 install that we need to upgrade to GP2010 here shortly and someone managed to get it on SQL 2008 so from what we understand, this is a murky upgrade path. I'd like to be able to use this tool before we upgrade. Do you happen to have an older version for GP 9? I know it isn't supported, but Mariano said to reach out to get an older version since they aren't available on Partnersource anymore.
Your partner can download the v9.0 Support Debugging Tool using the Direct Link on the Portal page (http://aka.ms/SDT). Note that the latest build for v9.0 was build 14.
The SDT for v10, GP 2010 (v11) and GP 2013 (v12) is currently build 17.
The Database Validation feature that Mariano demonstrated will be included in Build 18 for the 3 supported versions. Build 18 will be released when I have finished development sometime before the end of June. Can't give an exact date as most of the development is done in my spare time.
Thanks Dave. Just want to say we all appreciate your blogs too. I've learned a ton.
We are a GP partner and were using the tool with one of our customers today. It was causing a posting problem for Sales transactions, and the Microsoft tech said that the SDT is an "unsupported tool". Is this true?
The tool is supported via the community forum. It is not officially supported by the GP support team. This is explained in the manual, on the download pages and on the portal at
This is something I would love to change. Please provide feedback that I can show to management via the Survey at
Also if there is an issue please update to Build 18 and if it still occurs let me know, so we can address it.
