This is FREAKING AWESOME! PayPal on your website in 60 seconds or so!
Using the new Razor syntax everything is included to get that payment for services functional on your website. With just a few lines of code your site will have a PayPal account.
If you need to make money off your website, this is the easiest way to go, and if you are taking an ASP.NET class, then you should review this. How could you use this excellent helper?
First of all make sure to check out the blog at:
http://www.jamessenior.com/2010/10/27/new-paypal-helper-for-webmatrix/, bear in mind that this blog may be a little out of date as it was written prior to the release of WebMatrix, and I haven’t tested it, yet. But if you find a problem, make sure to leave a comment, James seems pretty responsive!
Once you get the PayPal working, and you want to do something super consider these ideas:
Tie your web site to a mobile tag that can be used in a mobi-tag application. Print up some index cards, which are pretty cheap compared to most types of cut paper, with the mobi-tag on it and hand them put to your friends! If they don’t use your product, maybe they will give the card to someone else. Of course they might just throw it away, but they could do the same thing with an email.
Just a thought about money:
Humorist Vic Oliver said, “If a man runs after money, he’s money-mad. If he keeps it, he’s a capitalist. If he spends it, he’s a playboy. If he doesn’t get it, he’s a ne’er-do-well. If he doesn’t try to get it, he lacks ambition. If he gets it without working for it, he’s a parasite, and if he accumulates it after a lifetime of hard work, people call him a fool who never got anything out of life.”
