On June 18 and 19, I'll be teaching an Open XML workshop in San Francisco, hosted by Mindjet. My co-instructor will be Chris Predeek, and I'm really looking forward to working with him. Chris is the author of most of the hands-on labs we've been using for these workshops, and he's an amazingly productive developer/trainer. I still can't believe how quickly he put together a set of sample solutions that generate the rich documents pictured below from common business data, and at this event he'll be demonstrating the techniques he used.
This event will be a great opportunity to find out what's going on in the world of Open XML development and meet others who are working with Open XML. You'll learn the most useful elements of the three main document types (word processing, spreadsheet, presentation), and how to harness the power of custom schema support to enable interoperability between different types of applications. Other topics covered include the Open Packaging Convention, DrawingML, using XSLT in Open XML development scenarios, and how to use the XML tools provided in the .NET framework, such as the System.IO.Packaging API.
