Dmitry Robsman, Director of Engineering in Web Platform and Tools (WPT) team, is a 14 year Microsoft veteran. He started his Microsoft career as a developer focused on Classic ASP technology in the IIS team and later became the first developer to join the ASP.NET team. Dmitry was working on ASP.NET and IIS for several years in different roles (including as Developer, Development Lead, Development Manager, Architect) continuing his technical contributions to the design and architecture, and writing the actual production code. Dmitry loves coding -- among other projects Dmitry authored Cassini (a purely managed Web server sample hosting ASP.NET) and ASP.NET RSS Toolkit (a framework for consuming and publishing RSS feeds in ASP.NET). From 2006 to 2008 Dmitry took a break from Web technologies to work on Programming Languages, first as Group Manager for Dynamic Languages team and later as Development Manager in Visual Studio Languages team that includes C#, VB.NET, F# as well as Dynamic Languages. In 2008 Dmitry rejoined WPT team as Product Unit Manager for ASP.NET and in 2010 Dmitry became Director of Engineering for WPT. In his new role Dmitry continues driving forward innovation in Microsoft Web Platform, including IIS, ASP.NET, WebMatrix, Visual Web Developer, and other technologies.
