XBOX3000, a community totally dedicated to XBOX is hosting there second big LAN Party in Germany. They have two qualifying tournaments for the world cybergames (Halo and Project Gotham Racing 2) and will also have an attempt to get a new entry to the guiness book of world records for having the biggest Xbox Lan Game ever (so far). Unfortunately their website is just in german.
As Tony mentioned the XP SP2 RC1 Platform SDK is available
My MS buddy Dirk did it. After months of hard thinking he finally moved his NNTP.NET Provider to a workspace at GotDotNet. Thanks for sharing this implementation and I’m excited to see how the community will get up to speed with this project.
Yesterday I had fun doing with Christian a MSDN Webcast about Interoparability between J2EE and .NET. Nice thing about Christian is that on the Meta level (the invisible communication layer between two persons) we communicate very well and don’t need words to react on some specific things during the cast. All in all working with Christian is fun. Even we share some similarities (both are far beyond 100kg weight) there is still something that is different, oh of course; he is not working for Microsoft, too bad. Any way, we suggested some strategies on possible interop integration and half of the audience voted at the end to integrate on the database level. This was for us a surprise as we had expected more answers on the other areas.
Those of you who have attended the XPSP2RC1 talk at DevDays04 in Germany can find the firewall registration demo here. It just shows how the current RC1 COM model is used to register itself to the firewall exception list.
