Welcome to the SQL Server Data Quality Services Team Blog!

SQL Server Data Quality Services (DQS) is the new innovative data quality product delivered as part of SQL Server “Denali” release. DQS is a knowledge-driven data quality solution. It enables you to build a knowledge base, and use it to perform a variety of critical data quality tasks – correction, enrichment, standardization and de-duplication of your data.
Building a knowledge base is easy – using your own data, DQS allows you to discover knowledge directly from samples of your data, combining computer-assisted and interactive experiences. You can also extend your knowledge with 3rd party IP, using cloud-based reference data services from Windows Azure Marketplace. DQS also provides batch capabilities with a SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) component, as well as integration with the Master Data Services (MDS) Excel add-in.

The DQS team is proud to announce our first public release as part of the SQL Server Denali CTP3 release. For additional information – go to the SQL Server “Denali” CTP3 resource center, or see the public announcement of CTP3 here.

In the days, weeks and months to come, we will use this blog to share additional information about the product, and provide valuable tips and tricks. We also invite you to check our forum and our pages at TechNet, where we will post additional articles and getting started videos. A full-blown DQS overview presentation from the recent TechEd conference can be found here.

So what are you waiting for? Go download CTP3, install DQS, and start cleaning your data…

Feedback and comments are always welcome.

Enjoy!
The DQS Team

  • DQS is the in limelight now. I like this feature very much.

  • DQS is a very exciting technology. Would be possible to download similar files like the one used by Elad in Atlanta for internal & customer demos?

    Thanks

  • Lou,

Yes - sure, I will soon post the source files and KBs that I used in TechEd.

    Thanks,

    Elad

  • For DQ the best practice is to perform Data Matching after Data Cleansing process.

we do have DQS component in SSIS but not for data matching which has to be done manually in DQS Clientserver.

i am looking  foe an option to include data matching process as well in SSIS packages..

Any info on above is highly appreciated
