We made the Dryad/DryadLINQ research stack available as a free download last July. Since then, we’ve made a number of improvements that we wanted to share. Today, we are pleased to announce the availability of an update to our initial release.

The November Update includes a major overhaul of DryadLINQ serialization to better deal with class hierarchies and abstract types. Thanks to the .NET Parallel Extensions team, the new release also comes with a version of PLINQ that delivers most of the improvements that have been implemented since the initial June 2008 CTP. We’ve also added support for Windows 7 on the client-side and fixed issues reported by the growing list of DryadLINQ users on Windows HPC clusters. Be sure to read the release notes included in the download to learn about new features, fixes and upgrade instructions. As always, feel free to visit our community site to provide feedback and ask (or answer) questions.
