The SQL Server team has released a new service model called: Incremental Servicing Model. You can get the details here. IMHO this has two key benefits for customers: 1) more predictability for the delivery of fixes and 2) higher quality fixes – the standard rhythm allows the product team to build more test automation to reach high test coverage percentages than under the old model.
